Andy Styles is a video game AI industry veteran with over 20 years experience. His first foray into AI was in California, where he was a technical … Read More lead and developed character AI for the game that started the Red Dead Redemption game franchise, which has gone to gross well in excess of a billion dollars in revenue.
For 10 years Andy worked on PlayStation products at Sony Computer Entertainment where he wore many hats from Producer to Technical Lead to Researcher, where he was granted 7 US patents based on his research.
In 2015 Andy and his family moved to Wellington to join Weta Digital’s R&D Team, working on visual effects software for films including The Jungle Book and The BFG. From there, he was then asked to join Peter Jackson’s new Mixed Reality startup, Wingnut AR, as a day-one crew member.
Andy joined Weta Workshop in 2017, where he continues to develop Mixed Reality content based on the Dr Grordbort’s Universe in collaboration with Magic Leap. His focus has been on character AI and placing dynamic content in Mixed Reality environments.
